A new exhibition will open today at the Maenofferen Centre, Blaenau Ffestiniog; displaying artworks made by Criw Celf Gwynedd members and artwork by their tutors.
The members have attended master classes with professional artists to learn how to use various media, painting, ceramics, glass work, three dimensional work, fashion design and jewellery. In addition the young people were presented on how the media explored is relevant to the art industry and offered ideas regarding possible careers they could follow in the sector. This exhibition offers a limited selection of artworks to share examples of work produced during this academic year.
Criw Celf aims to develop and foster young talent in visual art by offering workshops and masterclasses for more able and talented children and young people. It offers the visual artists of the future opportunities to work with professional artists in a variety of galleries and inspirational venues. This year the members worked in centres such as Oriel Plas Glyn y Weddw, Storiel, Plas Tan y Bwlch and Penrhyn Castle amongst others.
