Criw Celf Gwynedd is looking forward to working with a new group of young people as part of a special programme of workshops. Criw Celf is a programme which offers children and young people who have shown a special gift and interest in art to practice their skills. We offer opportunities to be creative in the company of professional artists at inspirational venues across the county.
At present Criw Celf Gwynedd has 6 groups of children who meet in Arfon, Meirionnydd and Dwyfor. We have over 80 members of varying ages. During the past school year we held 52 workshops and are soon to stage a large exhibition at the Gwynedd Museum & Gallery over the summer.
Children form Gwynedd who have shown a particular gift and interest in art were invited to submit artwork for consideration for membership. We received over 70 entries from across the county.
With guidance from the artist from the Lleyn Peninsula; Therese Urbanska, 25 children have been selected to join the new group. Pupils from Treferthyr, Penybryn – Tywyn, Waunfawr, Bontnewydd, Hirael, Bro Hedd Wyn, Dolbadarn and Sarn Bach Schools along with individual entries will join the new group. All the applicants have received a certificate in recognition of their hard work and efforts.
We are very much looking forward to welcoming the new members and to introducing them to educational and creative experiences over the coming school year.
