Criw Celf Denbighshire -Year 7 group

Denbighshire’s Year 7 Criw Celf group met again on Saturday 15 November, this time at Ruthin Craft Centre. Working with artist Hannah Wardle, they explored the exhibition Is It Wood? in the craft centre galleries, before setting about designing and building their own pieces, using laser-cut wood brought in by Hannah. The group were really focussed and worked very hard – you could have heard a pin drop!

Year 7 have their next masterclass on 17 January, when they will be making jewellery with artist Karen Williams, again inspired by current exhibitions at Ruthin Craft Centre.

Our Year 8 group meets on 6 December. They will be working with artist Catrin Webster at Bodelwyddan Castle – exploring the use of oil paints!
