We work to ensure children and young people have access to high quality art activities and experiences.
Criw Celf is an art project for more able and talented oung people. The project is delivered in North Wales and includes a series of master classes that gives an opportunity for those young people who have shown talent and a special interest in art to develop their skills and experiences. Criw Celf works with young people who are in years 5 to 9.
In recent years we have also developed the Criw Celf Bach programme which is an open scheme that offers high quality art activities and experiences to children aged between 7 & 11 years old. We are now also working in close partnership with the Portffolio scheme which offers Gcse and A Level art students opportunities to work with professional artists to develop and strengthen their art portfolio. We are also work closley with the Raising the Bar project which supports pupils who wish to go on to further education within the visual arts.
Criw Celf was devised by Gwynedd Council in 2007 and has since expanded across north Wales and into other parts of Wales. Criw Celf is included in the Arts Council for Wales Young Creators Strategy; it is funded by each local authority in north Wales and the Arts Council for Wales.
